Discover the ancient landscapes, rugged peaks, and abundant wildlife of the iconic Flinders Ranges in this compact 4-day adventure.

DAY 1 — Arrival → Hawker → Stokes Hill Lookout → Swag Night Under the Stars

  • Morning / Midday: 
    • Depart Adelaide
    • Travel into the Flinders via Hawker
    • Short stops for views and orientation
  • Afternoon:
    • Head up to Stokes Hill Lookout
    • 360° views over the ranges and plains
    • Introduce the story of the Flinders, geology, and First Nations connection
  • Evening:
  • Set up a swag camp near the ranges (designated bush camp area)
  • Sunset from Stokes Hill or nearby vantage point
  • First night in swags under a huge, dark sky

Overnight: Swags, Flinders bush camp (near Wilpena region)

DAY 2 — Sacred Canyon → Wilpena Pound → Swags

  • Morning:
    • Visit Sacred Canyon with its ancient rock engravings
    • Gentle walk and cultural interpretation
  • Midday / Afternoon:
    • Continue to Wilpena Pound (Ikara)
    • Check into Campgrounds
    • Optional:
    • Wangara Lookout walk
    • Hills Homestead
    • Scenic flight over Wilpena 
  • Evening:
  • Relaxed dinner, hot shower
  • Soft reset in the middle of the trip

Overnight: Campground Wilpena Pound area

DAY 3 — Aroona Valley → Blinman → Parachilna Gorge → Swag Camp

  • Morning:
    • Drive north via Aroona Valley
    • Classic Heysen country: gums, rolling hills, soft light
  • Midday:
    • Continue to Blinman (historic mining town)
    • Optional Blinman Mine tour or lunch stop
  • Afternoon:
    • Drive through Parachilna Gorge
    • Rugged walls, creek crossings, big scenery
    • Option to stop at Prairie Hotel (Parachilna) for a drink or “feral food” tasting
  • Evening:
  • Set up a swag camp in or near Parachilna Gorge (designated area)
  • Campfire, stars, and the feeling of being tucked into the ranges

Overnight: Swags, Parachilna Gorge region

DAY 4 — Brachina Gorge → Bunyeroo Valley → Razorback Finale → Exit

  • Morning:
    • Enter Brachina Gorge — the “Corridor Through Time”
    • Geological stops, rock layers, and a chance to spot yellow‑footed rock wallabies
  • Midday:
    • Loop back via Bunyeroo Valley
    • This is your grand finale:
    • The famous Razorback Lookout
    • Layered ranges, sweeping valleys, insane photo ops
  • Afternoon:
  • Begin the journey out of the Flinders, heading south toward Hawker and beyond
  • Final roadside viewpoints and farewell to the ranges

Tour concludes: Late afternoon / early evening, depending on where you want the official end point.

Private group bookings
If you’re booking the entire vehicle for 3 guests or 6 guests, we offer special private‑group rates.
Just mention this in your enquiry and we’ll tailor something specifically for your group.

Flights
Flights into Adelaide to begin the tour are not included, and return flights home are also not included.
However, if you choose to add an optional extension — for example, visiting the Great Barrier Reef after your trip — we can include connecting flights as part of a custom package.

For guests flying into Adelaide, we provide VIP airport pickup.
We’ll be waiting in the arrivals area with a personalised sign, ready to welcome you and escort you to your vehicle.
At the end of the trip, we’ll drop you at the airport and ensure you get to the correct flight.

Alcohol, souvenirs & personal toiletries/medication are not included in the tour price.
They’re available to purchase at bars, roadhouses, bottle shops, and local stops along the way.

All meals, accommodation, park passes, and guiding are included — no hidden costs.
