How's it like driving a Tesla/EV?

I enjoy it, though not everyone will. One-pedal driving is a Tesla feature, but you can change that setting. It handles well and accelerates fast. I've had people get car sick due to the lack of engine noise.

What's the range like in a Tesla?

The Standard Range RWD Tesla Model 3 comes from the factory with 410km of range, and that hasn't changed. In real-world conditions, I get 300-350km before needing to charge, which is enough for an 8-hour shift with Uber or chauffeur work.

How do you open the door?

Push your thumb into the larger part, and then grab the handle that pops out with your fingers. 9 out of 10 people can't figure out Tesla door handles. Don't worry, you're not alone. It's supposed to be intuitive, but it seems only intuitive to Elon Musk himself.

How much does a Tesla cost now?

New, it's about $65k. Second-hand, a 2022 Standard RWD model goes from $28k to $38k, depending on its condition.

I'm originally from Sydney and moved to Adelaide in 2014.

Staying in the city, what should I go see?

Rundle Mall is great for an afternoon walk. North Terrace is nearby and has the Museum, Art Gallery, and State Library, all of which are free to explore. Trams in the CBD are also free.

How long does it take to get to the airport from the CBD?

From the center of the CBD, the trip to the airport is approximately 20 minutes, and traffic is usually not an issue.

I have transport, what should I go and see?

Hahndorf is a good visit for a 1920s-style German village with great food. Victor Harbor has a horse-drawn carriage that takes you to an island with penguins—it's very nice. Penfolds restaurant in the Magill area offers spectacular views and 5-star dining. Glenelg is excellent if you want some nightlife, accessible by tram from the city. Henley Beach is perfect for lunch by the water.
