10‑Day Flinders, Outback & Port Lincoln Expedition

 

A journey from vineyards to mountains, desert to ocean, wildlife to wilderness — finished with a smooth landing in Adelaide.

DAY 1 — Adelaide Arrival → Barossa Valley

Distance: ~80 km
Your journey begins with an afternoon pickup from Adelaide. We head straight into the Barossa Valley, where rolling vineyards and warm hospitality set the tone for the trip. Enjoy a relaxed winery dinner, meet your guides, and settle in before the Outback chapter begins.

Overnight: Barossa Valley (hotel)

DAY 2 — Barossa → Flinders Ranges (Wilpena Pound)

Distance: ~350 km
Travel north through the Mid North, passing historic towns and open farmland. Enter the ancient Flinders Ranges and explore highlights such as Kanyaka Ruins, Rawnsley Bluff Lookout, and Hucks Lookout. Arrive at Wilpena Pound and enjoy optional short walks to Old Wilpena Station or Wangara Lookout.

Overnight: Wilpena Pound Resort (Campsite)

DAY 3 — Razorback Loop → Blinman → Leigh Creek

Distance: ~200 km
Start early for the iconic Bunyeroo–Razorback–Brachina Loop, showcasing some of the most dramatic scenery in the Flinders. Spot yellow‑footed rock wallabies and learn about the region’s geological history. Continue to Blinman for a historic mine tour, then push north through the ranges to Leigh Creek for a relaxed Outback evening.

Overnight: Leigh Creek Campground (camping)

DAY 4 — Leigh Creek → Coober Pedy (Underground Stay)

Distance: ~400 km
Head into true Outback country. Visit the colourful Lyndhurst Ochre Pits, the atmospheric Farina Ruins, and the vast salt expanse of Lake Eyre South. Continue north to Coober Pedy, Australia’s underground opal capital. Explore the town’s unique culture and optionally visit the Breakaways at sunset.

Overnight: Coober Pedy (underground hotel)

DAY 5 — Coober Pedy → Streaky Bay

Distance: ~690 km
Begin with underground churches and opal history before crossing the desert westward. Watch the landscape shift from red plains to coastal cliffs as we reach the Eyre Peninsula. Arrive in Streaky Bay for a golden‑hour jetty walk and a relaxed seaside evening.

Overnight: Streaky Bay (camping or cabins depending on season)

DAY 6 — Explore Streaky Bay → Port Lincoln (Coastal Camping)

Distance: ~300 km
Spend the morning exploring Streaky Bay’s highlights, including the Point Labatt sea lion colony and the rugged Cape Bauer Loop. Visit the ancient granite boulders of Murphy’s Haystacks and the dramatic Talia Caves before arriving in Port Lincoln. Stock up in town, then head into Lincoln National Park for your first night of coastal camping.

DAY 7 — Coffin Bay Oysters & Coastal Exploration

Distance: ~90 km
Wake to a sunrise over turquoise water. Travel to Coffin Bay for a hands‑on oyster farm tour, tasting oysters straight from the racks. Spend the afternoon exploring Coffin Bay National Park’s beaches, dunes, and lookouts before returning to your coastal campsite.

Overnight: Lincoln National Park (camping)

DAY 8 — Shark Cage Dive or Sea Lion Swim

Distance: ~60 km (local movements)
Choose your adventure:

  • Great White Shark Cage Dive (full day) at the Neptune Islands
  • Sea Lion Swim (half day) with playful, curious pups

The afternoon is relaxed, with time to unwind back at camp after an unforgettable wildlife encounter.

Overnight: Lincoln National Park (camping)

DAY 9 — Lincoln NP → Adelaide (Rundle Mall Evening)

Distance: ~650 km
Enjoy a final sunrise in the national park before beginning the scenic return to Adelaide. Stop at coastal towns along the way, then arrive in the city late afternoon. Spend the evening exploring Rundle Mall for last‑minute shopping and a comfortable final night.

Overnight: Adelaide CBD (hotel)

DAY 10 — Adelaide → Airport (Optional Activities)

Distance: ~20 km
A relaxed final morning. Early flights head straight to the airport, while late flyers can enjoy optional activities such as the Adelaide Zoo, Botanic Garden, or Central Market. Airport transfers provided according to flight times.

Flights
Flights into Adelaide to begin the tour are not included and return flights home are also not included.
However, if you choose to add an optional extension — for example, visiting the Great Barrier Reef after your trip — we can include connecting flights as part of a custom package.

For guests flying into Adelaide, we provide VIP airport pickup.
We’ll be waiting in the arrivals area with a personalised sign, ready to welcome you and escort you to your vehicle.
At the end of the trip, we’ll drop you at the airport and ensure you get to the correct flight.

Alcohol, souvenirs & personal toiletries/medication are not included in the tour price.
They’re available to purchase at bars, roadhouses, bottle shops, and local stops along the way.

All meals, accommodation, park passes, and guiding are included — no hidden costs.
